Last year we had friends stay with us for Easter,…
As Autumn draws in and our days start to get shorter and colder, Nelson often gets left off the tourist trail. We are well known for being one of the sunniest spots in New Zealand and a great place to explore in a sunnier climate, with 3 of New Zealand’s National Parks on our doorstep, vineyards and wine tours within easy reach of the city and safe and stunning beaches along the Nelson Tasman coast, you aren’t wrong for wanting to come and visit when the sun is shining however, we are still spectacular all year round!
Even Wikipedia gets behind us stating, “Nelson has one of the sunniest climates of all major New Zealand centres, earning the nickname ‘Sunny Nelson’ with an annual average total of over 2400 hours of sunshine.”
So, we thought we’d help make it easy for you to discover Nelson without needing to do all the hard work! We’ve teamed up with a fabulous local business, called Wine, Art & Wilderness to offer you a couple of nights away and a day’s exploring of the highlights of the region, with plenty of wine & food added in!
We were lucky enough to head out on one of their wine tours recently and experienced the beautiful wines & views of Kina Beach Vineyard and Ruby Bay and enjoyed a delicious platter on the lawns of Gravity Winery, discovered Tasteology and their myriad of products and their hilariously and charming host, and sampled wines at one of the long-established vineyards in the area Seifrieds. We’ve been in the area for a year now and hadn’t made it to any of these, so was a real treat to discover new places in our region. We came home laden with beautiful wines from each one and look forward to showing off our fabulous wine list when you are staying with us next.
So, nip, over to our Packages page and see whether we can tempt you to join us and the very lovely hosts Zane & Elissa from Wine, Art & Wilderness for a two night get away to our stunning region, no matter what time of year!
